Even when I’m content with my singlehood, my workmates, family keep asking when I will get married. I’m strong enough to sarcastically brush it aside ‘it’s not meant for me’ but later on when I’m all alone at night I could find myself shedding a few tears. I’m an introvert too so I like a few friends and at the moment all my friends are married and busy with their families. I’ve shifted focus to working hard at work to start my own business. Sometimes I feel most of my married peers have it easy, I have to work to survive.
I have found comfort in Allah(SWT) and swalah.

The author should have also mentioned having a long list means unrealistic standards. And yes many marriages are not happening because both sides have a lot of expectations. In the past, this was not the case.

I feel relieved and motivated after reading this .- It is true that, the idea of “must getting married and your life will be completed” does gives me pressure to the extent I wonder is that the only purpose of my life currently. But, I realised there is much more for me to contemplate in this life when I am supposed to strengthen my relationship with Allah s.w.t , my family before even worrying why I am still single. I am supposed to seek knowledge as much I can before feeling insecure of not getting married. And to have faith that Allah is the greatest planner.
