Now English is not my first language, nay, not my second, nor my third but my fourth. So, I could be wrong here; but if we look at history, we find the example of Alexander Pope in English poetry, who wrote in layers. He masked a concept within a concept, not unlike the mysterious fruit which Pi discovered in the mysterious island mentioned in Life of Pi, by Yann Martel.

The need to speak the truth without fear, with our heads held high, remains of prime importance. Discretion, however, is the better part of valour, if Islamic art is to survive today.

Salams Qanit! Absolutely; art is not limited to one idea or form. It is meant to express the deepest crevices of our soul, and I believe that is why God gave us art. It has a therapeutic power to it. You may appreciate this Elevate Culture article, which builds upon the idea you expressed:
