your comments are disappointing – after this video does much to bridge the gap between people of different backgrounds by highlighting common values of tolerance and equality, your response is like a slap in the face. I’ve been to Texas, there state is only 48% white, and the people are like people everywhere. I met some wonderful people. I’m wondering what you would do if you saw someone behind the counter giving a ‘redneck’ a hard time.

If they tried the same experiment in multiple cities (rural, urban) and also on college campuses, then we would see more interesting results.

This was done in Waco, Texas (home of David Koresh) anyone would expect this kind of behavior from Texan rednecks.

I feel that we’re really breaking some ice here. This shows some really good attitudes by non-Muslim Americans and needs to be communicated to the rest of the Muslim world.
Add to that all the commotion about trying to associate Obama with Islam by stressing his middle name “Hussein”, and the very positive responses criticizing the notion that there is something wrong with being Muslim (see ref 1 and 2). Americans are becoming more vocal in speaking out against Islamophobia. Its important that we Muslims realize the change of current and not allow ourselves to resort to “victim mode”. We don’t really have any excuse not to be the Muslims we should be and express ourselves to the fullest. Watch “Prince Amongst Slaves” to see that we are not an addition to this country, but part of its foundation.
