As the Prophet (saw) made very clear in his final khutbah, the degree of piety is one’s heart is what makes one human superior to another. Knowledge is, of course, mandatory, but there are those with lots of knowledge who suffer a disconnect from its application. While they “know” better, they do much wrong in the world! I read some time ago that the sahabah would memorize a new Surah and then put it to use before learning more. This is proof positive that knowledge+application is the golden ticket– and not simply learning for the sake of acquiring knowledge.

Brother can you please give me the reference from where I can be sure that we are only ordered to acquire on deen, and what is the boundary of knowledge of deen? You didn’t give reference there.
