And so now it is reported that Benghazi will recognize
Israel if their bombing Libya to save Libya campaign
provided by the US,UK, and France succeeds.

In addition to the facts that Gaddafi is a dictator,
and socialist who had the audacity to author the green book, who have not been on friendly terms with the
local Islamic Revival movements and the Arab League..

With significant oil revenues, small population, redistributive policies, extensive social welfare with
subsidies for basic goods and housing; Libya had the
third highest GNI and HDI in Africa before the conflict
that has nearly halt all oil production and paralysed the
economy.

The conflict has spilled over on the froniters of
neighboring countries causing humanitarian crises with
migrant workers.

Huge contracts has been established between China and
Libya that can change the geo-political landscape.
I assume to topple the Tripoli government, sieze the
natural resources and divert them away from China and
to the West would be an option on the table.

The Libyan rebels backed by NATO are not just made up
of Islamic revivalists but they have secular merchants,
monarchists, tribal leaders, civil servants and just
straight up angry young men. Yes they will unite, for now, to overthrow Gaddafi.

We should reflect on the realities, consequences, means, ends, and what possible conclusion will come forth.

Dear Sis,
Words can't describe how I feel after reading your article - simply moving. You've put my exact feeling into beautiful words. I sometimes get depressed with the situation we are in now in Libya but I try very hard to be thankful for all my blessings.Unfortunately, it isn't very easy. I'm going to put this article on my refrigerator door and read it every time I feel down and forget my blessings.
Thanks for the wonderful reminder. May Allah guide you to the right path always.

Your sister

[...] ” In a country with the worst possible infrastructure, I saw how the Libyan people were deprived of a proper education, good health care, and safe roads. I met families of ten or more who had to live off a salary of less than 150 dollars. I saw people who had to live with disabilities their entire life due to a small problem at birth that could have easily been treated by a simple medical procedure which was never performed, either because the doctors weren’t qualified enough, the equipment and medication weren’t available, or people just couldn’t afford it. I heard of businesses that were shut down by the government simply because they became too successful (a result of Gadaffi’s obsessive fear of anyone with the minutest amount of wealth or power). And of course, I cannot forget the psychological and emotional trauma most Libyans had gone through at one time or another in the past. Almost every single family in Libya has had at least a father, a brother, a husband, an uncle, or a cousin who was imprisoned, tortured, or brutally murdered by Qaddafi and his followers simply because they spoke the truth. The least harmful and most sincere of actions, such as performing Fajr (dawn) prayer in the mosque, was considered a threat to the regime and resulted in the imprisonment of many. The amount of suffering that the Libyan people have endured in the past (and are enduring even now) is beyond imaginable.” [ source] [...]

Asalam Alaikum brother Yusuf

Thank you for your comment. The intention behind this article wasn't about what is happening in Libya now but merely about gratefulness and how my experience in Libya taught me to be more of a grateful person. I had actually started writing it before the uprising in Libya began but never finished it; and felt motivated to complete it once the Libyan revolution started. Of course the martyrs of Libya and those suffering are always on my mind and haven't been forgotten in my du'aas. May Allah (swt)grant victory for the Libyans, patience for the afflicted ones and jannat alferdous for all the martyrs. Ameen.
