I’m the same age as the author and since I don’t live with my family, I suffered from that same problem. I wore hijab my whole life, but being practicing and more of a loner, at times I started to doubt myself.

I love the hijab and what it stands for in islam (not just a piece of cloth). I’m going to tell my Mum about this ASAP so I can start wearing my hijab before school starts. It will be sortive easy because I just moved so I don’t know any of the kids at my school. So they don’t know about me not wearing a hijab.
This article helped me so much. Thank you.
Any tips on telling my Mum (Christian) and Dad (non-religious, doesn’t like Christianity or me going to church) ? That would be extermelly helpful!
