SubhanAllah. All praises are for Allah SWA, the most gracious, the most merciful. This is such a great article and has come right when I’ve needed it most. I just failed at something that was very important to me and that I had prayed for success in for months. I felt so down and so weakened that I was certain I didn’t have the strength or courage to try again. I am still quite heartbroken over it but you’ve reminded me of Allah SWA’s words in the glorious Quran and the ways of our beloved Prophet PBUH and it has given me a lot of comfort and perspective and you’ve been very inspirational. You’ve helped make things easier for Allah SWA’s people, may Allah SWA make things easier for you. Jazak Allah khairun.

What a great article! A shift in perspective, Alhamdulillah.
For months I am still taking care of a mentally ill cousin of mine. He is the most difficult person to deal or live with.
From ruqya specialists to psychiatrists to even his mum, there is no one whom he gave hard time than me.
As a result, I become weaker in faith (though never gave up salah), failed to start learning some MOOCs courses I have subscribed to, became lazy, irresponsible, less social, and less healthy and come closer to the deadline I have given myself to launch my first startup, and about to go to a country that I don’t like in order to learn in the traditional higher ed setting that I don’t enjoy having no choice but to give in to the pressure of my family because in their view they find free university scholarship for me and since I’m jobless, I have no choice but to accept it.
But alhamdulillah your article help me change perspective.
Alhamdulillah I still have time and the opportunity to take myself where I really belong and never ever give up on realizing my dreams and goals despite the failures I experienced. I simply need to rip it and start again, refocus and enjoy the process having learned lessons to move forward to achievement and excellence in sha Allah.
JazakAllah khayr sister for your inspirational articles.

Thanks Sr. Jinan. I really appreciate it. 1. Got a boost from our khutbah yesterday, a brother from Islamic Relief (Syria fundraiser here tonight) talked about having Trust in Allah in times of difficulty is what makes a true believer – especially in the light of a young sister in our community (Portland, OR; 19 yrs old) and her friend who passed away this Monday in a car accident. He gave beautiful examples (Musa (AS) and his mother and even Ibrahim (AS)’s du’a at the Kaaba and it being fulfilled in the form of Rasul Allah). That patience and Trust in Allah’s Plan, and that our du’a will be answered, our problems/difficulties eased, while quoting of course, Inna ilahi wa inna lillahi raji’oon while reminding us what that really means when we say it with sincerity.

So gave me that boost I needed. Just for reference Sr. Jinan, I am the Br “Ahmed” that used to often say how much he loved/missed the Salah Series (it’s ok if you don’t remember lol), but I would say so because it was my salah and the points in those articles that helped me get through grad school overseas, which was where I was when you were publishing that series. Anyways, the topics you cover always/often connect with me and seem relevant to the place I’m in at the time, so once again, much appreciation/Jazak’Allah Khairan for your efforts.
