May Allah grant all of us the highest level of Jannah with no trial or punishment Ameen.

It seems like I have been trying for a long time to follow even the very basic obligations and I keep falling short every time. I then get disheartened thinking how can Allah ever love me when nothing brings a person closer to Allah than performing what Allah has made obligatory upon him. When you’re struggling with the very first step then how can you ever climb the stairway?!

But I guess I was trying to do too much at once. I like how you put it to start with the easiest things first and then build it from there. I read somewhere that to make a practice permanent you have to perform it for at least 40 days continually. taking this one step at a time first I can start with getting all my prayers right on time. Then I’ve also started reading a little bit of Quran everyday after fajr prayer. and so I guess I,m gonna make up a list of all the things I must and must not do and then start from the easiest and move up once you’ve practiced it for 40 days and it has permeated into you and then you can move onto the next thing… Then hopefully it’ll become easier to climb up the stairway and get closer to Allah.
