But to dig further on your science example, are you suggesting that the other person who claims water can flow from a lower point (x) to a higher point (y) is only doing so, because they see the supposedly lower point (x) as being the higher point, from their POV?

to take a science example, many people would say the truth is that water always flows from a higher elevation to lower. because they see it so from their experience. yet someone may claim that water can flow the reverse way and be also correct. this isn’t because there are two truths. it is because the truth is the fundamental equation of fluid flow from high to low pressure conditions. in this way Allah remains a one true entity while also being the Diversifier. it’s absolutely elegant, as befits Him.

the truly learned judge between a possibly acceptable position and a probably false one in light of what they understand to be the fundamental ‘equation’ for the matter at hand, not by focusing on the specific outputs like laymen tend to do. that is why they are able to articulate their views with the nuance they are known for, while remaining indisputibly in line with theology. this is also why novices tend to be more dogmatic and difficult – they tend to go by the apparent, and usually drawing only from their personal norms.
