Wa alaikum as-salam

Ya Yusuf, I really felt he was talking about the oil and gas under the Muslim lands and how many Muslims seem strange in their devout worship and our government is just like, who cares about them and their wierd beliefs we want what they have and we’re willing to make a deal with them and so they should just bow down because we are the real authority whose rights supecede all.

No offense taken nobody.

As long as we get our daily sould food and we do ponder over the ayat of Allah then there is nothing wrong with a little entertainment. The Prophet (saws) did enjoy watching the ethiopians in there entertainment in his (saws) Mosque right.

I made this comment so that those who do have a strong remembrance of Allah wouldn’t think that Sh. Suhaib is trying to say it is Haram to watch it. I think his quote and reminder was more for those who spend most fo their time in these worldly crazes and attachments. It’s all about balance.

I would encourage Muslims to watch it for the many meanings it offers including an empathy for Muslims.

SO TRUE, 2012, cant even go close to the true picture.

I saw the movie and I thought it more accurately portrayed the conflict aroused in Africa over the diamonds, mainly because what they were looking for was a diamond like thing which resides in the lands of those people under the tree.

And not to be such a debbi downer, but the movie was kind of predictable too. I mean come on, who didn’t see that coming? The fact that the guy would infiltrate it at first, start to fall in love with those people and become their hero? I’m no fortune teller, but that’s a common theme with these movies.

Whereas with Surah Qariah, Allah (SWT) says: “It is a Day when people will be dispersed like moths.” This day is a day of confusion, a day when no one will know what is going on. If you think the war between the humans and those green people was crazy, imagine what will happen on this day?

Not trying to hate on your comment Abu Majeed : ) Its just something to think about.

Of course ya shaikh the Qur’an and Sunnah and the teachings of the scholars are the best for a heart which seeks the divine, but on the entertainmnet tip I was impressed at the many good meanings in Avatar. I hadn’t been to a movie in a while and didn’t realize the craze over this thing. so I had to sit in the corner on the side since I was there only 10 minutes before it started so the 3D wasn’t all that. If you hadn’t seen it I suggest you check it out. James Camron clearly sees how Muslims are unfairly treated in the world today and he put a couple hundred mill in making that point.
