Wasting food is a sin and should be avoided. Waste not and Want not’. From my experience,if I don’t waste,I always have money to save or spend on other items. It’s a fact and a tragedy that while others waste,many are dying for lack of food. Excess food can be frozen and taste as good when thawed.

As a lad I was tasked to assist at my grandfathers farm. It included agriculture and livestock. When I witnessed waste, I couldn’t help but think about the amount of work and resources to produce thier plate of food.
This taught me waste is wrong before becoming a Muslim.

Jazakallah khair for this much needed and very inspirational post! I completely agree that the reason there is so much poverty in the world today is because we humans are not distributing the food in the right way and we are wasting large amounts of it.
