Great article, but the irony is beyond belief. I don’t remember any article or public statement about Troy Davis on this website. It’s great to point fingers at others, but where was this website then?

Where are the statements and articles about the current state of affairs with police brutality across the US? Occupy WallStreet? A group of students on a UC campus are arrested peacefully for disrespecting an ambassador’s speech and multiple times a week I found article about that on this website. A group of students on a UC campus are violently pepper-sprayed for peacefully protesting tuition hikes and not a word, neither on this website nor on Imam Suhaib’s twitter.

P.S one more thing.. I have experienced first hand unwarranted cruelty’s by so called policeofficers, have been stalked by off duty police personell, provoked, physically hurt and injured, without ever prokocing or doing any violence my self. I say this involving an so called off duty officer puts an carta blanc believe out there that officers conduct themselves bejond reproach? Anf let us not forget that under the Americam laws and statues ONES CASE sets the trent and opens the doors to more and more…of the same rush to kill..

The problem with the vast MAJORITY of us Americans is that we don’t SEEK critical thinking and we have let others (politicians and the media) define for us what TRUE PATRIOTISM and love for country and democracy is.

How are we as a nation going to dictate the “liberation” of other countries and their populations…when we as citizens of America haven’t even collectively liberated ourselves. Often times I think us Americans are scared to seek the REAL truth behind the “knowledge” they’ve been given by the media/politicans…out of fear of the truth; slaves to the self imposed “ignorance is bliss” mantra.

To the author; you drive many points home…insightful, true and important. I would like to point out one thing however from your article; the mention and quote from Louis Farrakhan and calling him “prominent” at that…to quote and include a man with shaky credibility/character within YOUR words that have a lot of truth; is like oil mixed with water.
