Jazakullah Khair for this brilliantly written article. This article reminded me of when my cousin was shot down three years ago for wearing the hijaab while picking her daughters from school. It was so sudden that it ripped our family to the core and its never been the same. There is something about dealing with a murdered love one that just isn’t the same with any other way of dying. I think its the worst to deal with. Its so senseless and frustrating. There is nothing you can do it and to know that someone instigated it for no reason, it hurts so much. Its nice to know that more people are asking the same questions I was when it happened. I just pray inshallah that no one has to through what we went through and what Asama’s family had to go through.

I understand the pain and the rage; and held helplessness. A friend mine years ago now… found and lost his father. Father was always too busy making money for him. Father got sick and saw his mortality and took his son and loved him for a year and half and then he was gone. My friend was in such pain for a very long time. You finally receive the love and attention he wanted but it was taken by fate. He is settled now; but he had long way back and someone had die for it as well. Pain is etched on to our lives. I know multi-millionaires and regular and poor folk. Not one of us escapes pain and misery; it hits at least once if not more times.

SubhanAllah, he died saying shahadah and trying to get back to the masjid for help. He came from a family that thought they’d be somewhere safer from violence than in Palestine.
