Inna lilahi wa inna ilayhi rajeoon

May Allah make us grateful and help us help them. I can’t even imagine. JazakiAllah khayr Amatullah for this badly needed post. I wish there 4000 comments on such a critical topic instead of 4. InshaAllah we will all act!

Ameen ya Rabb!
JazakAllah khayr for this beneficial piece dear Amatullah.
May Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala bless you with all good in both this world and the Hereafter ameen.

This is too painful; last year during Ramadan, it was the floods in Pakistan, and this year its the East African drought. May Allah ta’ala forgive us for our sins, and may He bestow upon us His Mercy esp. in this sacred month ameen.

Jazakallah Khair for informing us of the famine that is going on in East Africa. May Allah have Mercy on these innocent people! Also, thank you for providing a dua at the end of your post. Inshallah, all of your readers will raise their hands and supplicate to Ar-Rahman with this beautiful supplication.

Please remember, brothers and sisters, over-eating is also wasting food. Teaching your child (or modeling it yourself) to finish the food on their plate when they are already full, only lends itself to a lifetime of food waste and potential weight issues. Instead, try covering the remaining food and eating it first at the next meal. If we are blessed by Allah with food, then we should show our appreciation in the way we handle, consume, share, and not waste it. May Allah ease the suffering of the millions of people in Africa who are facing extreme adversity, and fill us with the desire and means to assist them in their time of despair.

Excellent post mashaAllah. Anther org with no admin fees who have staff on the ground in Dadaab: http://www.soda.org.au . This org has, with ALLAH’s mercy and generosity, and the generosity of the Sydney Muslim community, sent 10 shipping containers of food. If your
Community has the means to do the same, gof or it. Hook up with another aid agency and see what you can come up with. InshaAllah if we all do a little bit, it adds up to a lot.
