In reply to <a href="https://www.virtualmosque.com/ummah/community/bridging-the-gap-feminism-in-islam/#comment-210392">fritz</a>.

They dont have to apply to modern feminist movement, i just tried to show the holistic, all encompassing nature of Islam. It has something for everyone. Its not about what women are interested in rather what they can be good at. Islam is a system of living, it has its own rules and this is my way of showing what it has to say about the rights of women. This said, the "New Feminism" is quite different from the popular feminist movement. I just wanted to show that be Feminism or any other ideology is incomplete in comparison to the holistic approach of Islam. True feminism has not been able to bridge any gaps but Islam has!

Fair enough points but the majority of positions you describe simply do not apply to the modern feminist movement.

Yes many women are interested in families and raising children, but the interests of women and the interests of feminism are not the same thing. In fact, many women even in the US DO NOT feel represented by feminism; that is something for the author to reflect deeply about.

We should be a little more careful in our intellectual investigation. Read about what the foremost leaders of this movement are focusing on: the right to dress provocatively, sleep with as many partners as one chooses, and constant denigration of motherhood.

Feminism has not even been able to bridge the gap with the common interests of women!
