It reminds me of how many people I know (once including myself); either stopped going to a particular mosque outright or sporadically and instead went to another. However the reasons for not going and limiting visits to a particular mosque instead of another were as a result of attachments to individuals at a particular mosque that are negative (e.g. may have not liked the “masjid politics” that sometimes surface).

However we need to remember that a masjid is a house of Allah (SWT)…whether the masjid is grandeur’esque or a very humble one that doesn’t have amazing architecture or amenities (where one’s own house may even have more amenities and architecture awe)…..the difference is the confides of a masjid is the house of Allah (SWT), the one who created us and blessed us to even be able to live; let alone live in the comfort of a dwelling…period.

Also; a masjid should not be identified and neglected of visiting it because of its members….as neglecting to visit a house of Allah (SWT) because of fickle attachments to the masjid (e.g. don’t like the way the masjid’s aesthetics are or don’t like some of its congregation)…would be neglecting one’s soul and relationship/communication with Allah (SWT).

May we all try to remain steadfast, keep a soft heart and strive to walk and live the truth of the example of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)…examples and guidance which are set out by Allah (SWT) to better our lives, our soul, this life and the hereafter iA.
