Just a week ago I heard an experienced (American) imam yet again confirm what I had read or heard multiple times, that in North America, within a few years the MAJORITY of new Muslims “detach” / leave / fall away / drop out / apostasize. Muslims are so fond of crowing about how “Islam is the fastest growing religion” in North America, but they ignore the significance of a relatively higher birth rate and totally ignore or sweep under the carpet how many of the converts just leave. They are the “modern muhajirun,” so to speak, but there are so often so few “modern ansar” to receive them, welcome them, support them, and cherish them that the converts / muhajirun often eventually get so disheartened and disillusioned in their loneliness that they leave Islam. I can speak from experience.
