Message from Imam Suhaib on Egypt (Share Your Comments!)

With the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Peace and blessings of Allah upon our master, Muhammad ﷺ and those who follow him until the end of time.

Dear brothers and sisters,
Asalamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

It is with tempered happiness, touched hearts and tears of joy that we congratulate the Egyptian people on their victory over oppression. It is a blessed month, in which many of us honor the birth of our Prophet ﷺ. And, from this day forward, insha’Allah, we will recall the birth of a new mindset in the Middle East. Ahmed Shawqi wrote, “Egypt is history….so look at her and read it!”

Truly, the Egyptian people have captured our hearts. Their love for freedom, dedication to each other irregardless of religion, and the pursuit of a free life, are truly admirable. Without “Operation Freedom,” “Autocratic thugs,” and “Irresponsible extremist theology,” but, “Allah does not change a people until they change themselves,” they were able to bring change. At SuhaibWebb.com, the majority of us have lived, studied, cried and laughed in Egypt, and our relation is that of close cousins. We have called for a “Global Qiyam” this weekend and encourage all to take part begging Allah to assist the plight of the oppressed wherever they are.

Finally, while we celebrate the political death of an oppressor, let us reflect on the happiness when, insha’Allah, we enter Paradise and see our Prophet (peace be upon him). In order for that to happen, we must rise against what Shaykha Muslema al-Azhariya coined “the inner Mubarak!” Just as the Egyptians were empowered to initiate change in their country, we must seize the opportunity to change ourselves and rise up against the oppressive nature of our souls! God bless the Egyptians, accept their efforts and make this an example of change for the rest of the world.

Please leave your message of support, supplication and congratulations to the people of Egypt!

  • Bismillah

Assalamo-alaikum wa rahamatullahi wa barakaatuhu to my dearest Egyptian brothers and sisters–most especially the brave youth–

Know that we LOVE you for the sake of Allah al Aziz- al Fattaah!!! The Supreme–the One who opens doors and grants victory

Know also that whilst we watched you brave the torture and hardship, the janaazah after janaazah…you reminded us of the Companions of the Prophet pbub- indeed in you are the likes of Abdullah ibn Zubayr, Ali ibn Taalib, Anas ibn Maalik (radi’Allahu anhum)

In you lie the keys to greater victory-Stand firm and stay united- dont let shaitaan and his many helpers who right now may be very worried-dont let them ever destroy this unity that you have found.Stay firm and remain steadfast–indeed it is only those who believe AND remain steadfast who will get the victory.

As we stand in euphoria with you- let us remember those who died-who insha’Allah are in an even better place–a place which we also hope to attain–a place where the euphoria will certainly be never ending.
May He keep you firm and provide you with leaders who are pleasing to HIM.AAMEEN

  • To my dearest Egypt:

  • Congratulations to the Egyptian people, and not forgetting the ‘lil country that inspired everyone, the Tunisian people as well. Allahu akbar…

They are an inspiration to all Muslims and others around the world.Besides winning their freedom and dignity, they have sent a message to the world refuting the slanders and fearmongering of anti-Muslim bigots and at the SAME time it is a SLAP in the face to violent extremist losers who do nothing but murder innocents and bring the repurcussions onto the heads of equally innocent Muslim civilians.

The Egyptian people have done peacefully and with dignity and patience what that LOSER Zawahiri couldn’t do in forty years…I hope he’s watching this and feels like the irrelevant LOSER he is…

THIS is how it’s done. Congratulations and THANK YOU to the people of Egypt and Tunisia…

  • Wallahi, I have not felt such hope and joy for this ummah in a long time! Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth! Regardless of what the tyrant did, the fearlessness, love, commitment, brotherhood, courage, and sacrifice that our brothers and sisters have shown us is something to be admired and emulated. May Allah grant them the will to continue their struggle and to fight any internal or external enemy that wishes to break their unity.

and Allah is the best of planners

  • MashAllah! Egyptian people showed the world what they are capable of. The result shows their strong motivation and dedication to achieve justice.

This event is a true inspiration for all humanity.

May Allah Protect and Bless the people of Egypt. Ameen

In order that Allah may separate the impure from the pure, put the impure, one on another, heap them together, and cast them into Hell. They will be the ones to have lost.

  • Ya Habaayib fi misr,

You are beautiful. In the past two weeks, you captivated and shook hearts across the world with your revolution. It was not so much the picket lines or the slogans which touched my heart, as much as the extraordinary stories I heard – day after day – about the courage, compassion, comradery, generosity, and resilience of the Egyptian people. I always believed the truest and greatest revolution is the one in which you throw fear aside and stride towards the best version of yourself that you can aspire to be. I must thank you for the lessons you’ve imparted in the beauty of your spirit. Thank you to the Egyptians who stood their ground in the midst of tear gas, water canons, and direct assault. Thank you to those who provided food and water to the protesters on a daily basis in trucks that circled Tahrir Square. Thank you to the neighbors who shared with each other and carried each other’s burdens. Thank you to the men – young and old – who protected their families and neighbors with sticks, kitchen knives, and blocks of concrete. Thank you for the words of gentle encouragement and understanding that you exchanged with one another – “7a2ak alayyah,” “shid 7ilkom ya gama3ah.” Thank you for the wedding ceremonies – for celebrating Allah’s blessings and reciting His praises in the midst of absolute chaos. Then of course, we cannot forget those killed in the violence. A newly wed just back from his honeymoon, an art teacher and father of two young children, and hundreds more. You are in our dua’a – al a7yaa’ walamwaat. May Allah grant you His mercy, His grace, and His abode in paradise. Ameen.

May Allah guide the Egyptian people towards a just society whose governance is exemplary and whose national spirit maintains its light and transcendence. Ameen.

All praise is due to Allah. Lillah Ilhamd. Wallahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar. Allahu Akbar.

Ameen. All Praise is due to Allah for the FREEEEDOM OF Egypt and we are proud of the people of Egypt. ALHAMDULILAH!!!

  • Imam al-Ajlooni mentioned in his book: ‘Kashaf al-Khafa’ that Ibn Asakir (may Allah have His Mercy upon him) reported from Amar Bin al-‘Aas that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: “After me if Allah grants you victory over Egypt, there you should build a huge army, that army will be the best army on the earth”. Abu Bakr asked: ‘What is the reason? O! Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) of Allah! He said: “They will be in ‘Ribat’ (protectors of the borders) till the Day of Judgement” .
It is narrated in Sahih Muslim from Abu Dhar that the Prophet (Sallallahu Alaihi wa Sallam) said: “You will conquer Egypt, a land where Qirat is used. Treat its people kindly since they have a right of kinship upon you” .
    Allah knows best.

  • Alhamdolillah – once again Allah has blessed freedom on the people of Egypt (as He did for Hazrat Musa and Hazrat Yusuf), rewarding efforts and sacrifices. I suggest everyone offer 2 nafl of gratitude and pray for the continued help of Allah and for perseverance, and that Allah bless us all with such blessing.

  • May Allah will continue to remind us how He can take away His nikmah anytime and easily as how He has given to us. Allah Akbar. The Egyptians perseverance especially the youths is amazing and a good benchmark for others in the world to emulate.

  • BismillahirRahmanirRaheem
    assalamu alaikkum

    Ameen, Ajmaeen!

  • Assalamualikum wa Rahmatullahi awa Barakatuhu Brother Suhaib!

Thanks for your posting asking us for fasting and prayers (which I often did including today) for the Egyptian people who at last, with the mercy of Allah (SWT), become victorious and made history not only for themselves but for all the people across the world to spread the hope of a new wind of change, for a new beginning, for a better world for freedom, dignity and justice………inshaAllah!

Indeed, as you pointed out wonderfully that “Allah does not change a people until they change themselves,” Surely, this victory indeed a great reminder, reconfirmation and potent to empower all the oppressed about their human capability and to regain the responsibility to change their condition for the better with Almighty Allah’s (SWT) mercy..inshaAllah!

May this victory and event serves as a beacon of light/hope to the region and to the world toward spreading freedom, dignity, justice and democracy. This victory is also a great testament of non violence, the power of people when they are in synced together with a common belief/purpose, determination and faith!

May Allah ( SWT) protects the people of Egypt and their aspiration/dreams-Fee Amanillah!

May Allah SWT blesses you abundantly for guiding us in HIS path..May HE continue to blesses you and all of us with all the needed tools to this end..inshaAllah.

Hope someday, not too far, we get a chance to meet up again ( I saw you in my dream last night) and I look forward to that day to give you hug brother…inshaAllah! And, please don’t forget me in your dua!

With respect and admiration, ma salam, Abu

  • Alhamdulillah!
    God is Great.
There is no fear other than that.
May God bless the Egyptian people without measure for making us remember again.

  • Congrats (Alf Mabrook) to the people of Egypt who, with patience and God’s help, were victorious in their effort to topple dictator. There efforts are an example for the world, proving that non-violence is the way, and that the majority of Muslims prefer this route. May God grant them patience, success and ease as they transition towards a more just and peaceful society, insha’Allah.

  • Congratulations to the Egyptian people; what an accomplishment. Sticking together, having faith in the actions you took, and most importantly, God; showing support for one goal, and patience, got you freedom so quickly. All in three weeks! May God bless you all; your pharoah has gone down!!!

  • The Egyptians have inspired the ummah of Muhammad (may blessings and peace be upon him) that subjugation is not inevitable. May Allah open the hearts of all Muslims to assist them in that which is good, for we are one ummah! May Allah hold back the hands of those who would seek to reverse the direction of this revolution, whether from the ranks of the Muslims or from without! Ya Fattah Ya Salam! Allahumma salli ‘ala sayyidina Muhammad wa aalihi wa sallim!

  • Prayers, pride, strength, and solidarity to the Egyptian people as they celebrate their victory. May G-d make the road ahead easy for them and replace the pharoah who was thrown out with a leader who listens to the people and may G-d watch over them as they journey on to rebuild their country. I can’t express all the emotions I feel, but as a new dawn shines upon Egypt let us remember those who lost their lives. Learn their faces and names: http://1000memories.com/egypt

  • All praise is due to Allah!

The tyrant said he would not leave, and he did the next day! This is a message we send to all the tyrants around the world, killing, oppressing, stealing: DEGAGE!

    Congratulations to the Egyptian people!

  • Indeed this is a time for the awakening of people. It is amazing how the imagine on this post resembles the uniting of religion to bring about a change – As the West continue to divide the religion further the Egyptian revolution has taught them a big lesson – The Revolution by all means in not over – the first step to remove a 30 year old rule.

For those enemies of Humanity – the revolution sweeping Middle East and Africa is one not to be reckon with.

  • May Allah sustain this glorious victory of the Egyptian people, as brother Suhaib said: let us seize this moment and rise above our own inner Mubarak, wherever we may be. Ameen.

  • I remember the first emotional aspect of this revolution for me was hearing about how people took it upon themselves to stop looters, protecting not just their own property but any property. I remembered then the Ayah, “they plot and Allah plans, and Allah is the best of planners”

The regime thought they would show people that they are dependent on them and their corrupt police for security, and without any time to plan they spontaneously came together and stepped up to fill the void in a way that some said they never felt more secure before.

However, the most emotionally touched I have felt is seeing footage of young men sweeping the streets of Tahrir square, and others attempting to erase grafitti sprayed on walls. My eyes tear up, because when we start treating our streets and public spaces as owr own home… imagine what kind of a bright future lay ahead of us, with Allah’s mercy and pleasure at what these youth are doing?

  • Mabruk to the people of Egypt! What a blessing to be “re-born” in the favored month of Milad al-Nabi. May it be the First Spring of a new era for all Egyptians. May Allah grace the citizens with diligence, patience, wisdom, and gentleness to meet the challenges ahead.

  • As salamu alaykum,

Al hamdullilah. Egypt is finally free. We are finally free. This is not just thanks to the people’s persistence, but also of everybody’s duaa for our country. From the US to Mecca, everybody was praying for Misr.
It’s still too much to take and unbelievable for us living here: everywhere we go there is a celebration, you look at people and they are smiling and you can see the relief on their faces.
    Al hamdullilah.
I am happy to be an Egyptian, also humbled because it’s Allah SWT Who has made it happen.

Inch’Allah, our children will have a bright future in this free country.

  • Alhamdulillah

This is trully amazing !!! let the world know how we moslims do jihad. And let as all take a very important teaching from this. Unity and trust in allah

  • Peace be upon you all,

Cairo, the Mother for the World, is free… will her children follow her? May Allah bless them with guidance, make their feet firm, and strengthen their hands.

  • Congratulations to the people of Egypt!! :) Since the 25th of January till the day you won your freedom.. you all have been an inspiration to people around the world.. you fought for the freedom and never gave up!! You all showed us an important teaching that if we want something we should never give up on it!! Its beautiful how you all fought for one another.. Its very nice to see everyone helping and doing their part to get Egypt back on track.. cleaning the streets and helping one another… I hope you have a brighter future and be happy…

Congratulations and Barak Allahu Feekum… and may Allah (swt) reward you all for your hard work and for those who lost their lives whilst fighting for their freedom..

P.s Everyone please remember those who lost their lives whilst fighting for their freedom and dignity… please visit this website http://1000memories.com/egypt

    Assalamu Alaikum

  • How I wish that this should happen in Iraq before…no terrible bloodshed and violence….
I salute you all Egyptian for everything went smoothly…
May Egypt will get their new fair n square President.

  • Assalamu Alaikum.
I think it is only my Egyptian Mother in law who is so sad he left. She feels that he should have stepped down in dignity and she cried so much, because she has frail health all her children have to say, “Okay ma ma you are right.” I don’t think she is the majority but I do think elderly feel that stepping down in dignity may have been the better choice.

  • It is not a victory for the Egyptians only,, it is for the whole Muslim ummah.
We must be smart enough and know that this did not happrn by chance. It is the will of Allah to help Egyptians in the blessed month of His Prophet’s noble birth to give us the lesson: live you lives from now on on the footsteps of the beloved salla Allahu alaihi wa sallam. I hope that all Muslims realize this as i do since the beging of our blessed uprising.
May Allah reward you all good brother Suhaib for your great message.
    Your (Egyptian) Student

  • Though I did not have the honor of taking an active part in this glorious revolution, I was with with the heores and martyrs of Tahrir with my heart and soul. I will be eternally indebted to them for reminding me that when there is a will, there’s a way and most important that Allah helps those who help themselves. The taste of victory over tyranny is indeed very sweet.
