Suhaib Webb is a contemporary American-Muslim educator, activist, and lecturer. His work bridges classical and contemporary Islamic thought, addressing issues of cultural, social and political relevance to Muslims in the West. After converting to Islam in 1992, Webb left his career in the music industry to pursue his passion in education. He earned a Bachelor’s in Education from the University of Central Oklahoma and received intensive private training in the Islamic Sciences under a renowned Muslim Scholar of Senegalese descent. Webb was hired as the Imam at the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City, where he gave khutbas (sermons), taught religious classes, and provided counselling to families and young people; he also served as an Imam and resident scholar in communities across the U.S.
From 2004-2010, Suhaib Webb studied at the world’s preeminent Islamic institution of learning, Al-Azhar University, in the College of Shari`ah. During this time, after several years of studying the Arabic Language and the Islamic legal tradition, he also served as the head of the English Translation Department at Dar al-Ifta al-Misriyyah.
Outside of his studies at Al-Azhar, Suhaib Webb completed the memorization of the Quran in the city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia. He has been granted numerous traditional teaching licenses (ijazat), adhering to centuries-old Islamic scholarly practice of ensuring the highest standards of scholarship. Webb was named one of the 500 Most Influential Muslims in the World by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center in 2010.
It’s interesting to observe that the above understanding of “ziyâdah” in Q10:26 has been available to English readers since 1734 when George Sale noted that “Al Ghazâli supposes this additional recompense will be the beatific vision”.
Even before that, in 1698, when Marracci translated “ziyâdah” into Latin as “additamentum”, he added the gloss “id est, visio Dei”.
One might perhaps have expected Muhammad Asad to mention this interpretation, but he doesn’t.

It is He who made the sun a shining light and the moon a derived light and determined for it phases – that you may know the number of years and account [of time]. Allah has not created this except in truth. He details the signs for a people who know
Indeed, in the alternation of the night and the day and [in] what Allah has created in the heavens and the earth are signs for a people who fear Allah.
I started to think of how many times we change bulbs to keep up with light.buy new battery , electricity is never 100 % guaranteed. But look at the moon and the sun that supply light and heat for years and years and years for the whole world and No maintenance needed.
All this signs makes it hard to disbelieve that their is a power higher.
And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him; and if He intends for you good, then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants. And He is the Forgiving, the Merciful
Subhanallah, in Ramadhan we get chance to go through the whole Quran. In every Juzz there are some ayahs connecting to other Surahs.For instance, in Surah An’am My favorite ayah was
Ayah 17:And if Allah should touch you with adversity, there is no remover of it except Him. And if He touches you with good – then He is over all things competent.
Then,when I was looking to share some Ayahs from Surah Yunus, same ayah caught my attention and I thought how Quran is a reminder, how it is connected. How it proves that it it is from one and only one God. whatever you need at the moment, Allah makes you take that message from His Book as He is talking Himself.It is truly the speech of Allah. The book talks to you like no other person does. The counseling it provides, there is no substitute to it.It consoles you.It uplifts you.It holds you.It gatheres you when you are scattered.Just ponder on these words:
and if He intends for you good,then there is no repeller of His bounty. He causes it to reach whom He wills of His servants.
Allah intends good for us.The fact that we are fasting, we can go to taraweeh, we can bow down to Him, we can listen to the soul shaking verses,we are able to share our provisions with others, we can to masjid and smile at others to gain sadqa,we are able to break fast with others, all this His bounty, He has willed all of this to reach us. He is intending to do good with us. Shouldn’t we be thankful? Shouldn’t we be humble when we prostrate, how much thank we should give Him. We can’t do justice to His bounties. It is His mercy, His absolute mercy to rewards us, to bless us with this month and His Book. We can never ever be thankful enough. Surely,
“They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.”
